My World 🌍

 

My friend was looking at my phone one day, just casually scrolling, when she suddenly paused.

She noticed that the very first contact was My Mom.

In favourites - My Mom.

On WhatsApp -My Mom.

Everywhere she looked, it was mom and mom and mom.

Then she saw something else. I hadn’t saved her contact with a name. But a 🌍 emoji a world.

That emoji is preserved only for her. No one else gets it.

She looked at me, genuinely shocked, and asked,

“OMG… you love your mom that much?”

I smiled and said, “Yes. She’s my forever best friend.”

And then I explained why.

My mother once held a prestigious job as an Air Traffic Controller, a career most people only dream of. A 40 LPA package. Power, respect, stability, success  she had it all.

But she chose to walk away from it.

Not because she failed.

Not because she was forced.

But because she wanted to give me a beautiful childhood.

Just imagine that for a second.

Someone willingly sacrificing a 40 LPA career so they could be present for their child. So they could attend school events, wipe tears, celebrate small wins, and simply be there. Even when she received multiple offers later, she rejected every single one. Her priority never changed.

That kind of sacrifice isn’t loud.

It doesn’t come with announcements or applause.

It’s silent, powerful, and rooted in pure love.

What makes her even more special is the way she raised me.

She never compelled me to become something I wasn’t.

She never forced her dreams onto mine.

She’s chill the kind of mom who feels more like a friend than an authority figure.

She respects my emotions.

She listens without judgment.

She trusts me.

And yes imagine having a mom who doesn’t restrict you from wearing modern outfits, who understands changing times, who doesn’t confuse control with care. Especially, that freedom feels like breathing fresh air. It’s rare. It’s precious.

My mom taught me that love doesn’t mean limiting someone.

It means letting them grow  safely, confidently, authentically.

She’s the reason I believe in unconditional love.

She’s the reason I know what sacrifice truly looks like.

She’s the reason my world feels stable.

So yes, my phone reflects my heart.

She’s my home, my safe place, my strongest supporter, and my forever best friend. 💖
