 Hey Readers! Hope you are doing good. Here, I am Safa Salsabeel to elucidate top 5 secrets on the topic, "How to Train, Develop and Boost Your Memory?" What instantly comes to your mind when you think about Issac Newton, Aryabhatta, Thomas Alva Edison, Stephen Hawking etc., 

     Let me presume , you will feel like they are great legends who possess good memory power . They are having infinite intelligence. Some may even feel off the charts. Let me terse , you with few points, kindly peruse it. You need to know, to a T definition about memory. 

 Memory is the power to revive again in our minds those ideas that after imprinting, would have disappeared or would have been laid aside out of sight.

Firstly, let me trigger you by saying, 'Meditation'. In order to keep your mind strong you need to do "MEDITATION" which gives a sense of calmness, peacefulness and a balance of mind that can benefit both your emotional well- being and your overall health . Benefits of meditation are it reduces stress, controls anxiety, promotes emotional health, lengthens attention span, boosts mind and immunity . It can open the prision doors of mind and liberate your stress and I always believe, "Calmness of mind is one of the most beautiful jewels of wisdom."


Secondly, let me gratify your thought by saying, " FOOD FOR THOUGHT & SLEEP." Food is very important element  for development of memory. You may be bewildered what food should you intake in order to improve your memory? Now listen, you should intake Omega -3 fatty acids like nuts and seeds such as flaxseed, chia seeds, fish and other sea foods. You can also have dark chocolate, blueberries, coffee, fatty fish. The worst food for your brain are  refined carbs, food high in trans fat, highly processed food, aspartame, alcohol, sugary drinks and fish high in mercury.  

And the other important element for increasing memory is "SLEEP" . You may feel queer, thinking how does sleep help in increasing memory. When you learn something new, the best way to remember is to sleep on it. That's because sleeping helps strengthening memories you've formed throughout the day. You might even come up with creative new ideas when you slumber.


Thirdly, I would like to bring to limelight by saying, "PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY". During childhood, all of us had a cherished desire for a photographic memory or eidetic memory. I have the same cherished desire even now. Its like tongue in cheek. But this is a gray area (not clearly defined) So, first let me elucidate what is  photographic memory ? Photographic memory is the ability to recall a past scene in detail with great accuracy. You may feel perplexed that, "Does photographic/Eidetic memory really exist?" According to my research, a true photographic memory in this scene has never been proved to exist. But in order to recall you can do "Weird Visualization". Suppose, if you want to remember, " Uzbekistan is a landlocked country." Now just imagine that, you are baking a tan coloured cake so bake tan and the cake is inside an oven closed and there is no water around it so when you recollect that image you will remember that the tan coloured cake was in a land locked place so, Uzbekistan was a landlocked country. If you can concoct some really weird and grotesque images then brain is more likely to reproduce and recollect them more strongly.

Next, I would like to showcase my thought by saying, ' TRY OUT SOMETHING NEW' Yes, you read right . In your free time, rather than Binge-Watching your netflix you can write with both hands, learn to draw, solve any puzzle, learn a new language, solve rubik's cubes....By doing this you may feel relaxed and stress free. It helps you to develop cognitive abilities, enhance your ability to work under pressure and helps you to develop problem - solving skills. 


Last but not the least, I would like to express my coherent thoughts by saying, "RELATE NEW INFORMATION TO THINGS YOU ALREADY KNOW." When you are studying something unfamiliar material, take time to ponder and heed information related to what you already know. By establishing relationships between new ideas and existing ideas you can dramatically increase the likelihood of recalling the recently learnt information and I believe by following this you will surely surpass, feel jubilant and effervescent.
