A Plea for Peace
Lay down the weapons, the anger, the hate,
Why must we fight when it's never too late
To listen, to reason, to offer a hand,
To build up a world where we all understand?
The earth bears the scars of battles we wage,
While children grow up in a world filled with rage.
Fields meant for harvests lie barren and torn,
Homes left in ashes, hearts broken and worn.
What glory in bloodshed, what victory won
When all that we cherish is lost, overrun?
The cost of a life, no treasure can pay,
And yet, through our blindness, we throw it away.
Imagine a world where our voices are heard,
Where peace is the promise, and kindness the word.
A world without borders, without guns or tanks,
Where differences fade, and we offer our thanks.
Let empathy bloom where bullets once fell,
Let love be the legacy our stories tell.
To stop war is simple, it starts with a choice,
One heart united, one world, one voice.
