5 STEPS TO AVOID PROCRASTINATION


Hey readers, hope you are all doing great. Here, I am Safa Salsabeel Z to give my insights and elucidate the topic, top 5 steps to avoid procrastination.

Firstly, you need to know the definition of procrastination.

According to the Oxford dictionary, it means an act of delaying or postponing something. Well , let me illustrate an example, suppose if you have to finish the task within a week but you keep postponing it till the deadline, this means you are procrastinating your work

Here are five steps to avoid procrastination:

Firstly, let me sow my thoughts by saying “CREATE YOUR DAILY PLAN AND CHOOSE YOUR PRIORITIES”. In today’s rat race and survival of the fittest scenario, being multi-tasking and accomplishing your task effectively is the most important challenge. Suppose if your superior has assigned a project to complete within a month. Moreover, it’s a huge project and you need to invest your heart and soul into it. Then, in order to accomplish your goal, you need a lot of time to complete it. In such circumstances, you need to be savvy about giving priorities. You may be a night owl or an early bird. It depends on you. You must frame a time table. Set your daily goals and achieve it. Be intrepid always and I presume that you will undoubtedly, achieve all your tasks.

Secondly, I would like to trigger you by saying “AVOID DISTRACTION”. Yes, you read right .Distraction is something that does not enable you to perform a specific task. There are many distractions nowadays like social media, TV etc., Yes, you should be ready to face the music but you may feel vague how to avoid distraction? Let me illustrate, just evocative that a gardener cultivates his plot keeping it free from weeds and growing the flowers and fruits which is requisite for him. So, a gardener tends garden of mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless and impure thoughts and cultivating only pure thoughts. By doing this, you are the master gardener of your thoughts and director of your mind. Similarly, never think about distraction and keep it away until you finish your daily goals. I always believe, “The law of your mind is the law of your belief”. This means, to believe in the way your mind works and believe in belief itself.

Thirdly, I would like to showcase my thoughts by saying, “WATCH MOTIVATIONAL VIDEOS”. Sometimes, you may feel demotivated, feel like binge watching and listening to earworm. I think you will unanimously agree with me because it is the illustrative truth. During that time, when you watch motivational videos you will get unconditionally inspired and I am sure you will achieve your goals and I always believe that you will cherish your vision, cherish your ideals, cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind and loveliness that drapes in your purest thoughts, for out of them you will grow more delightful.

Next, I would like to bring to limelight by saying, “CREATE A DETAILED TIME WITH SPECIFIC DEADLINE“. I am sure according to your time table you would have framed everything correctly. Suppose, if you have set an alarm at 5:30 am then keep multiple alarms from 5:15 am because most of us just snooze and go back to sleep. If you think about snoozing an alarm for an ephemeral period of time then, this is called procrastination. Let me reiterate, you are the maker of your character and builder of your destiny. Suppose, if you fix a target to complete within 3 hours then, don’t wait till the deadline instead, try to complete half an hour earlier. Thus, fix prior deadlines within your inner conscience. 

Last but not the least I would like to enchant my views by saying, “‘REWARD YOURSELF”. You may find it queer! I am not a jocular rather a pragmatic person.  After achieving your daily goals by not procrastinating, you can reward yourself which you like. For example if you have completed the daily tasks then you can reward yourself by watching your favorite series, listening to your favorite songs, etc.,  that time really you will feel jubilant and you will feel motivated to complete more tasks and not to procrastinate it. Always remember nothing is catch-22 and I always believe, “Have courage to think differently, courage to invent and to travel the unexplored path, courage to discover the impossible, courage to conquer the problems and succeed.”
